Technology is enabling us to communicate more and more efficiently but that’s not necessarily the same as connecting. (When chatting on our mobile phones in public, are we communicating with absent friends or avoiding communication and connection with the people standing right beside us?) E-HUGS use technology to actually connect more with people by sharing with them things that really matter.
Recently, following a visit from a friend, I suddenly felt a ‘tingle’ of appreciation for him and what we share together – the sort of feeling which, had he been present, might have expressed itself as a hug. Though these feelings are precious, it’s very easy to let them slip away – before we know it, like the fleeting appearance of a rainbow, the moment has passed. E-HUGS allow us to catch and share these tingles of feeling almost anywhere and anytime.
When a hug is shared, the hugger’s good feeling is passed on to the huggee, but it doesn’t have to stop there: anyone who sees the hug, or even hears about it, may feel a tingle too! This is the principle on which E-HUGS are built.
Think of all the people you want to want to E-HUG and join us in sending hundreds of hugs around the world. All you have to do is enter your E-HUG on the E-HUG form, then copy it with the invitation and paste into the body of an email to your huggee.
