ALBERT AND LITTLE HENRY - REVIEWS SAY

The author of HUG has brought out a book that helps older children cope with the arrival of a pesky sibling. Albert the dog has the full attention of his parents and regales them with his funny stories until Little Henry, his brother, comes along. Of course, if only Albert had had this book to read he would have been prepared, but instead he feels reduced in size as his parents bathe the baby rather than listen to his woofs - of- consciousness and shoosh him to get number two to sleep. When Little Henry finally sleeps, his parents are too exhausted for Albie. Then, when the visitors arrive to fawn at the new arrival the repressed rage spills out and Albie retreats to his bedroom. He’s later prised out by his mother’s patient words and a pointed present. It’s a simple tale told well with charming pictures. If you’re expecting a second baby, stock up on this book.

The Times

Little ones will enjoy reading how Albert learns to feel big again as his family manoeuvre him through a recognisable minefield of emotions.

Yorkshire Evening Post

Albert clearly shows how the arrival of a new brother or sister can make a child feel small and insecure. His woeful expressions and temper tantrum are beautifully visualized in Alborough’s adorable scenes or sibling jealousy... Albert is sure to find a place in the hearts of any family facing the potential emotional upheavals of a new baby.
